Sunday Six: Die Empty, Apple Watch Ultra & MKBHD
Welcome 👋
Good to see you again! I’m excited to be back sharing a weekly Sunday Six with you.
Sorry for taking brief break on this newsletter. I’ve actually been working on a few things 😉
What have I been up to? Glad you asked!
- I’ve been building BrightfulStudio.com with my two best friends. We’ve been building a brand new service we plan on launching here shortly. I’m very excited about it 😄
We’ve also been doing some amazing rebrands! You can check them out at BrightfulStudio.com/our-work
- I’ve been writing mostly on Twitter! I found a niche little community of incredible creatives, entrepreneurs and writers there. I write daily on twitter so if you like Sunday Six, you’ll love connecting on Twitter.
Now that we’re all caught up, let’s dive into this week’s Sunday Six!
Sunday Six ✍️
Every week I share six things that have inspired me whether it’s a book, album, tweet, video, app or whatever.
I hope they encourage and inspire you to create your best ideas. Here is this weeks:
📚 Daily Creative by Todd Henry — Todd Henry is a brilliant creative, writer and thinker that has been creating for over 20 years now. I can barely make it past a page or two without full-page highlights and notes.
Here are two of my favorite quotes so far:
“The most valuable land in the world is the graveyard, because in it are buried all the unwritten novels, unexecuted ideas, unreconciled relationships, dreams not pursued” - Myles Munroe
“Refuse to take your best work to the grave with you. Choose to die empty.” - Todd Henry
⌚ Apple Watch Ultra — I recently sold my Garmin Running Watch and went to an Apple Watch. Why?
• Instant sync with Strava and MyFitnessPal
• Accountability with my friends (activity sharing)
• Cellular for calls and music streaming
And not to mention, the beautiful design of this watch is unparalleled.
✍️ Leuchturm1917 Journal — I recently added a journal to my “daily” tools. I have a Moleskine Bullet Journal where I keep all my tasks, notes, and work ideas.
I use to journal my reflection, gratitude and thoughts into the DayOne App. I’ve since moved away from a digital app and have been reflecting in this analog tiny notebook every morning.
It’s opened up clarity, feels way more meditative and even slows me down to process more deeply.
⌨️ The Five Pillars of Digital Writing — I’ve been following Nicholas Cole and Dickie Bush on twitter for quite some months now. I’ve grown 10x as a writer due to their wisdom and knowledge.
I’ve recently dug back through their Five Pillars of Digital Writing PDF. It has simplified my overthinking and helped me write clearly. Can’t you tell? 😉
〰️ How I Built This: MKBHD — For those of you who don’t know, MKBHD is a YouTube creator with over 15M+ subscribers. He talks about technology and puts out some of the most beautifully polished videos on YouTube.
His interview with Guy Raz on how he built his YouTube channel to become a 7-figure company with 13 employees is wildly inspiring!
💭 Quote — “If you talk about it, it’s a dream. If you envision it, it’s possible. If you schedule it, it’s real.” ―Tony Robbins
Thanks for tuning into these weeks Sunday Six!
